Owl Lamp by Cherif Morsi

Egyptian designer Cherif Morsi released the ‘Owl’ lamp, a quirky interpretation of two owls resting.  One shade is set in a specific position whist the other is movable. The striking linear structure balances perfectly around the two shades creating a modern silhouette for the home or office.

TMforF&M Pop-Up in Covent Garden

TMforF&M is a new furniture and lighting design brand from London architecture studio, Feix&Merlin Architects.

The first furniture collection from the brand will be exhibited in a pop-up shop in Seven Dials, Covent Garden during the London Design Festival.

The search for a new tradition is what inspires the brand and this ethos can be seen in the designs and choices of materials.

The Spindle Pendants is a family of handmade and hand-blown glass pendants available in four finishes. The Spindle stools share the curvaceous proportions of the sister collection and are inspired by traditional spindles, only made of solid marble.

Above: The Sebastian

A guilty pleasure is The Sebastian light, designed in collaboration with artist Stuart Sandford. The sculpture takes it’s form from classical sculpture, but gives it a modern twist.

The Sebastian’s body is taken from a top male model as inspiration, but pokes fun at the modern practice of taking ‘selfies’; the narcissus Sebastian is caught taking his own photograph and the camera turns the sculpture into a practical light – recreating the effect of a flash in the model’s face.
