Student Competition: Design a Clerkenwell Design Week window display for Designworks Tiles

Tile manufacturer and supplier Designworks Tiles has launched a competition for UK based students enrolled on a design related course.  Students are invited to design a window display for the company’s St John Street, Clerkenwell showroom on the theme ‘What does London mean to you?’

The installation will be in place in time for the prestigious Clerkenwell Design Week in May 2015, meaning the winning display may be viewed by some of the 50,000 attendees that visit the area during the event, providing an excellent platform for showcasing the designer’s work to the industry.  In addition, the winning designer will receive a cash price of £1,000.

Entrants must take into account the company’s primary business of tiles and make use of products from the Designworks Tiles portfolio.  As the company has its own manufacturing division in Exeter, the company can print tiles, hand paint, create transfers alongside bespoke mosaics and more, as well as fashion custom designs using water jet cutting technology – designers are encouraged to think outside of the box!

All students enrolled on a UK based design courses are eligible to enter.  Examples of eligible courses might include:

Art & Design / Interior Design / Graphic Design / Architecture / Product & Furniture Design / Interior & Spatial Design / Ceramic Design / Architectural Technology / Product Design

Further information, including full terms and conditions and entry requirements, can be found on the Designworks Tiles website.
