‘Five minutes only’ is a series of quick fire rounds with industry influencers, leaders of disciplines and emerging designers. Today we welcome husband and wife team Baines & Fricker, who create their products from their workshop in Brighton using British materials wherever possible.

How would you describe your home?
Our home is a small flat in central Brighton. It has lots of books, prototypes of our designs and pictures on the walls created by us or friends.

Do you collect anything?
We collect lots of things — snow domes, books, figures and souvenirs.

What was the last item you purchased for your home?
The last purchases were a Silken Favours Cat cushion and a Pigeon Light from Theo before it closed down.

What would you like to buy for your home?
A Lamino chair by Swedese or a Vitsoe 620 chair would be nice.

Car Camping by Mark Sundeen.

Who would you most like to have dinner with?
Each other, of course! We are not very sociable…

What is your biggest achievement?
Our new workshop and making a living doing what we want to do.

What are you launching next?
We will be launching our SB01 and BF02 range at Clerkenwell Design Week, 19-21 May, which we are really excited to be taking part in. It will be great to be in the Farmiloe Building with some of our other favourite designers.
